Epcos Compact PCC for IGBT modules

EPCOS has developed and released a new PCC (power capacitor) with a busbar that fits industry standard IGBT modules. Its compact design has dimensions of 280mm x 110mm x 120mm and a volume factor of nearly 1 that allows space saving within the design of converters. The Epcos capacitor also saves time during the assembly process and reduces the requirement for symmetry resistors.

The Epcos IGBT capacitor has a rated voltage of 900 VDC and offers a capacitance of 1000 μF. The ESL (equivalent series inductance) for the entire PCC, including the busbar, is a maximum of 15 nH therfore reducing voltage overshoot.
